in the middle counsol by the parking brake you have that change holder with the flip lid. There is a light in it. i checked out the wiring and the bulb and its fine although ive never seen it come on. whats it for? to see your change? how do you turn it on?

I think its for just that, see your change (kinda stupid though) i saw that when i put in my shifter and I also have never seen it come on, maybe its got to do with the ash tray used as an ash tray not a coin holder.
Mine always comes on with the lights. I used it to wire up my cupholder LED.
Mine comes on with my lights as well.

its to see your ashtray at night...allot of cars have it...i use my ashtray to hold coins as well probably cuz i dont smoke.
yea the ashtray mine comes on as well, but how in the world do u change its bulb its a 74 if i'm not mistaken.

Yea I don't think it was made to see the change haha. I think since it was made to be an ashtray, smokers need the light at night to see where it is, otherwise they'd probably miss and get ash everywhere.
well some people are so friggin rude that they hold their cig outside their car and let the ashes hit the ground, i give a your number one symbol (middle finger) when i see someone flick their cig.
trust me nobody wants there car smelling like an ashtray.

those damn 74 lights are tough to get in the slots. I wonder why mine is not working on both of my celis? A fuse you think? I dunno.

The bulb might be burnt out. Mine was when I got my car, but since I replaced it a couple years ago, it's been fine.

if I tap on the spot between the ashtray and the center console, it lights up. Maybe I will replace it sometime...74 you say..

wow i never even noticed that lil light bulb in there till i read this post....i guess mine never comes on....is it supposed to turn on with the rest of my lights??
Yeah its supposed to come on when you turn the lights on, to replace it you got to take out the 2 screws near the shifter and the 2 bolts in the centre console compartment, then lift it up over the handbrake. The you can get the bulb enclosure out and replace it. I replaced mine with a bright green bulb, works well enough but will replace it in red later on to go with the rest of the inside. BTW the globe is the same size as the glovebox globe
