Best coilovers - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #23073 20 posts Started by bloodrain
my buddy at radioshack says ground controls are the best, since they come with Eibach springs, but I see some arospeeds on ebay for 1/4th the price, anyone know what the difference is? How can a spring be worth 4 times the price?

i think they are the best coilover sleeves. but for for full coilovers, the best for our cars are probably Tein.

yeah It all depends on the price, which the best is in.. They make some sets for the celica that go up to $1500 and Id say those are the best, but those im going so assume that are manly for racing.

My buddie had a set of racing coilovers that he got cheap, and they retailed for $1200 and they were stiff as ****t.. not good for daily.
what about the ground controls? I hear Eibach makes the best springs. Are the Tein better?

I was gonna buy the Arospeeds as well
some people have bad things to say about them though >frown.gif>
My friend said that the cheaper springs (anything under ground control) will make ur car bouncy and not a very smooth ride, he has the gcs on his car and has it lowered almost to the ground and he says it rides like it was stock heightjust with much better performace

I think that if you are going to get coilovers. You're better off spending more than 300$. Much better quality of the parts and ride on the higher priced IMO

Yeah. atleast go with those. I've heard they aren't that good, but I think they are the best bet for our cars unless you have the cash for the Tein SS
ya the tein ss are like $1200 right?

not true. g/c's will stiffen the ride substantially, depending on what spring rate you get. you have to understand these aren't meant to slam your ride, they are performance parts meant for auto-x or other motorsports requiring suspension tuning. so in conclusion, no they won't ride anywhere near as comfortable as stock but thats a tradeoff with the substantial reduction in body roll they provide

I heard from friends that Ground Control coilovers are garbage and Tein SS's aren't much better than stock. I figure this varies for each car but has anyone installed Ground Control or Tein SS's? Also does anyone know their spring rates?

*nevermind Ground Control doesnt even make anything for our car :x*
