Topic #23259 24 posts Started by politicsareevil
Ok,

I know this will be a retarded question, but I need to know. I just got my 3rd gen JDM gt-four clip today. What octane gas and what grade and weight oil should I use for it.

Dumb question I know but please all help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt

the highest octain you can buy. i run 94octain . its a good idea to start putting it into your gas tank a week or two before you start swaping so that u have good gas in there for the 3sgte.

for oil, i use mobil one 10w30.

post some pics of your clip. why are your worried about gas and oil now? u still have to swap the motor over.

I use 98RON fuel and Castrol R (10w 60) oil.
As above, if you can't get 98, use the highest unleaded octane you can get.

98 (RON) octane and 5W40 fully synth.

Turbo will trash semi synth pretty fast.

JDM ST205Blitz Spec NUR Exhaust, somewhere over $1000Needing another one 18000 miles later, bloody annoying.
98 Ron octane petrol and 15w 50 fully synthetic race oil, expensive but worth it. Thin oils soon become a waist of time once that turbo gets not.
i put diesel into my gt4..... wait, i dont even have a gt4, ignore that post, lol

Thats hilarious. Back before i totalled my GT4 I used straight moonshine. Best MPG and kept my engine clean to boot.... RC cola and a moonpie >biggrin.gif>

Pictures yaaaaaaaaaaay. Quick can anyone tell me what gen this engine is just by looking at it. I know what gen it is but can anyone else tell me. Its like a little game. yay games

I agree with Batman, defo 2nd Gen GT4,
An easy way to tell the difference = 1st Gen GT4 has a small water/air chargecooler, 2nd gen has an air/air intercooler or a large water/air chargecooler with 2 sensors on it, (on the Ltd editions e.g. Carlos Sianz), and the 3rd gen has a large water/air chargecooler with 1 sensor on it.
Word. That's a 2nd gen from a ST185 or a MR2......

If it was sold as a third gen, you've been ripped off my friend.

Please tell us that you weren't told it was a 3rd gen. Also, show us some better pictures of the throttle body and we can tell you if its a 90-92 or a 93.

Not unless he swapped the Intake manifold and head cause the motor in the pics has T-VIS.

i love the comic relief lol.

man i love you guys and gals this is such a good celica site.

ok im dun but man can you feel the love
Yes it is an integra motor how did you guess that Im swapping the b-series goodness. Just to let everyone know, I was originally looking for a second gen engine just because they are cheaper and easier to find, then I found this "3rd gen" cheaper than most 2nd gens by a couple hundred bucks. Im dealing through a shop so I didnt see pics in the first place. Once I saw it i figured it was a 2nd gen, but hey I'm not complaining. Its a 3s-gte instead of my 7a-fe. I did not get ripped off because it was actually less than the other 2nd gens I had looked at. Yes I would love to have a 3rd gen but I am happy that I now have a 3s at all. By the way, what exactly is the difference in 2nd and 3rd gens??

Thanks,

Matt
should have bought a clip. you gonna have one hell of a time matching up all those hoses. cut wire harness, no ignitor.

What gas to run should be the last thing on ur mind. You should be taking that motor back where you got it from. Buy a clip.

Good luck
DEF

I will return one day.
