Does anybody know if anyone makes an oil cooler for st, or gt celicas, this mod would really help engine life with a turbo!
oil coolers are pretty much like intercoolers, you can make them fit on anything as long as you have room.
i am going to get one as one of the first things i do to my car after i put the turbo on

sadly they dont make one for our car, that i know of, but there are universal kits for around $50-$100

and yes it will greatly help with turbo and oil temperature. my turbo is going to be a little close to the ac and radiator fans so when those are on it will help with the temps a little too

would this help basic engine life of your car with out a turbo?
yes, but dont expect an amazing difference.

having most anything in the engine running cooler and more efficiently is good

actually, if you don't need it, an oil cooler can rob HP from a turbo setup. it's similar to putting a huge intercooler on a setup that doesn't need one that big. for a turbo ST, you don't and won't need an oil cooler.

What about something like this, i think having more oil and making sure its filtered better will help alot. Since the turbo lives off oil, come to think of it i guess the entire motor does to >biggrin.gif> http://www.spiderautomotive.com/enoilfilremf3.html

yeah upgrading the oil filter is a much better idea.

I think you should find out what you want to do(boost) and later you can add the oil cooler. The priority for you should be the builting of the engine around the turbo and you can add later those things >smile.gif> But always an oil cooler for turbo engines is a good option >confused.gif>
