Full Coilovers - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #23543 19 posts Started by AndyST4
I am about to get my tax refund and put it towards a set of full coilover suspension. Just wondering if anyone has the D2's yet and how happy people are with their SS's or any other full coilovers. The D2's are supose to be compriable to the SS's and I can get a full no questions asked lifetime warrenty on them.
I don't think any of the 6gc owners have them but I have read exceptional things about this set elsewhere. I say give them a try and report back!

i have the tein ss, i love em. i ride is harsh at first but it's like that with every coilover kit there is.

once you break them in, the ride gets better. keep in mind that the ride will be harsh compared to stock.

expecting a harsher ride for sure the lifetime warranty of the d2's is just so tempting. If I buy them from PRE they said if they start feeling soft or anythng I can just pull them off and send them in and get a new set
so the d2's are tanabe right.

I have these on my car now. But I need to adjust the ride and test it on the track next weekend. Then I will come back with a report.

D2 are made in Taiwan, there just universal sold coilovers with the D2 brand on them. At least thats what I am told.

Tein has already proven themselfs along the years for there exceptional quality. I have them and with the EDFC installed i wouldn't want anything else.

JDM Powerplant installed, BPU coming very soon!

me too i wish i had the tein coils with the edfc i bet thats bad ass that you can change ur damping force inside your car. did you do the wiring yourself?

::Edit::
wow i just check the prices for the d2 coils. I dont know if you could get them cheaper but they are just as much as teins. I thought they would be cheaper. For that price i would definately get tein.

Wiring is easy, it has all the necessary connectors on them. Hardest part is installaltion. Not that its difficult but time consuming. Be ready to spend about 4-5 hours on the installation.

Prices, i knew they were not that much cheaper then the Teins, another reason to save up a few bucks and go for the quality rightaway!

I love my Teins too.....I can't imagine buying anything that I'd like more for the money. Superior quality, proven performance, and a long company history is what wins me over.

Very versitile also, I was riding a mountain road by me the other day, and the road turned to dirt and rock suddenly. I simply pulled over and adjusted the dampening force to the softest setting and continued to flog the road like it was my job. wink.gif
