so this was my plan...

get the front bumper fitted good, and holes drilled etc, then adding some fiberglass to the inside to make it a little stronger, maybe taking some chicken wire up in the whole inside of the piece, puddying it to the bumper and fiberglassing over in parts, this way holding to piece togehter a bit and giving it a little support while allowing it to have a slight bit of flexibility when putting it on the car...

now to the lip...

as probably every single person here knows, the vader front lip will split in have if you hit a squirrel with it... i was thinking to reinforce it i could put a piece of fiberglassed wood against the front, then fiberglass over it to bond it to the lip. after id include some wood screws hidden, going through the bottom, along with a little more fiberglass on the outside with some extra layers of clear coat after i paint of course...


any good ideas to make this piece stronger?

i added the foam sealant to make it more sturdy.

other way is to attach a piece of plywood on the bottom

fill the back with Fiberglass/bondo mix.

blah all this wood and crap is crazy talk what are you building a ship?

go to advanced auto

buy bondo with SHORT hair fiberglass......(comes in a can just like regular bondo just says "with fiberglass strands")

mix it with hardener
then apply it to the inside of the lip WALA your done and its strong as shizle

hahahah thats funny... but lemme just say something tho. You dont really need to reinforce anything. The kit will hold assuming its a 7 layer fiberclass kit. We (Me, Jubz, Mac) actually ran over the invader lip with Jubz' white celi. TWICE (since jubz backed up on it again after he ran it over...hahah)!!! It was purely by accident but the lip held with only some cracks here and there. so im pretty sure the lip will win against a squirrel >> And there was another situation where, in trying to jack up my car, my entire front invader bumper held up the front end of my car. dont ask me how that happened it was pure stupidity on my part. but the kit had no damage AT ALL. i even took it off and inspected it. crazy stuff these fiberglass ya know? >>

umm this lip will break and the owner before hit a racoon and it snapped in 2 pieces right in half and flew off the car never to be seen again lol

Mine flew off my car on the freeway once....only some small scratches and what not. Then another time i hit a big dip in the road nasty...and once again just some small scratches.
