how much oil is needed for our cars..i dont have a manual and need to know....

I have the owner manual right here and it says

7A-FE
with filter 3.7 qt

5S-FE
with filter 3.9 gt

I just put in 4. I figure if it doesn't like the extra .3 than it can just burn it off(burns less than a quart between 3k changes).

i put 4 in and when i change at 3000 miles, 4 comes out

I was under the impression that putting in more oil than specified was bad for the engine. Correct me if I'm wrong. >>

yea your right but .3 to .1 gt isn't going to do any damnage at all.

Yup, it will only harm the engine if you put 5 in, or some ridiculous amount.
