Hiya
i am going to change my muffler in few weeks (i hope)
so i started to prepare things already so i dont has to be under car whole day when new one arrives..

i know my current stock muffler isnt easiest thing to take off, well it would be easy but since its been there ages and rust + road salt etc etc has done their job, joint looks quite horrible. >>

so far i been trying to clean it little bit and sprayed stuff that helps on rusty parts, also been using dremel gently and it looks bit better than in pic below.
i know i will need heavy equipment eventually...
oh and i will open that without doing damage to pipes, i dont care about bolts tho

question is.. would someone have similar pic from same area but lots of cleaner one ? it would help alot to see clean structure of it.

if you take it to a muffler place they can make you a whole new exhaust from the down pipe. I got my done at muffler man for 110 + a new muffler

i say if its that rusty and bad, change whole thing too

if you give me until the weekend, i could get a few pics of mine if it'd help ya.

i dont have any muffler shop around...
pipes are all good and shiny under dust cover, its just that joint which looks so bad. seems to be some kinda crap magnet >>

oh and i can wait.. i dont have any too hurry since new one hasnt arrived. >>

man i have a 95 and my joints look nothing like that. That road salt and water must really really do some damage.
