ok, some kid on my floor (im a frosh in college) has an alpine hu and said that they do no have those headphone jacks. What is a good HU that does, anyone have one? anyone know what im talking about?

Depends which you get. Most (if not all) of them have the ai-net or m-bus input in the back of the HU, and you can buy an rca adaptor for them to have an auxilary input. Crutchfield.com has them.
