I remember back in the day someone had port and polished their engine... Does anyone know if there is much gain on the 7afe? Im thinking about getting a junkyard head and giving a shot at it from what I understand dremel tool is the tool of choice for this. Thats means nearly everyone has the tools for it >

I would if I dint have to change wiring, I wana keep the car so i can swap in the old engine if something goes wrong... this is the only car I will have to go to college and back and I believe it takes a fair bit of rewiring to change the head?
the whole engine bay harness is changed and your interior is splice to go into the new ecu harness

that and you can still build good numbers with the stock 7afe head
you just gotta re work it a lil
you just gotta re work it a lil
I like the smell of the challenge dont you Daniel? I know it may not be the most rational to build a massive hp engine, but thats not my goal. My goal is to build a much faster version of my car with the ability to swap in my stock engine for va's hellish emissions ect.

if i were you guys i wanted to stick to the stock head
port and polish stage 3
3 angle with new bigger valves, springs, retainers
grind the cams
better head gasket
port match
that is just the head all that stuff $3,000
