Do any of you like audis? I love them, especially the TT, S4(B5 platform), and A3/S3(shame those never came out in the states). I love them cause they got stylish, clean looks with quattro awd turbo. The only bad thing is that they are pretty expensive. I'm most likely getting a TT or S4 for my next car. But for now, I love my celi!

audi design is world class- has been since the late 60's... History of the Quattro cars and its racing pedigree is impressive. But reliablity is trash to say the least, and for that reason i loose intrest VERY quickly... although an Imola Yellow S4 wagon would be fun >

Where did you hear the reliability was bad? I thought it was pretty good just that doing DIY is a bitch. but i think that goes for all euro cars

I've always been a VW fan. Funny sounding engines. And I'm a lot German. Since Audi and VW are pretty much interchangeable now, I guess you could call me an Audi fan. I do think they're kind of ugly, but I like the way they perform.

Here is the JD Power and Associates graph for the 2004 vehice dependability study sums it up fairly nicely- industry average is 269 problems per 100 vehicles- and Volkswagen group (home to audi) gets 366.... wow thats not dismal >

According to my grandpa it does. German does everything better than everyone else. Seriously though, German made stuff usually is really good. It surprises me that they have that many problems.

The audi we had at one point had all kinds of problems, and my parents spent a lot to fix that car but it kept having problems. Audi's commercials are kind of funny though..."simple is greater than complex"...true maybe, but how can Audi consider their cars simple? Our audi had friggin' vacuum lines running throughout the entire car just for door locks(that never worked right.) >

the s4 is amazing, my boy has one chipped, full 3" exhaust downpipe down and some other mods. It hauls and its real classy, silver with black leather interior.

German engineering kicks ass...except VW is cheap German. Audi and VW USED to be affordable german cars. Audi is breaking off from that bracket a lil with the new line, more stylish, more power, more expensive. You see BMW and Porsche up there, VDub is down towards the bottom. I have never been a fan of VW, they've always had problems, especially electrical. I personally cant stand them.

Audi is VW that you guys know that.
VW= VW + Audi + Seat and even Mitsibusu (for a part at least) and Lamborghini? (dont know that for certain)

Were is audi on that chart? Are you counting VW's as Audis? I just realized it wasn't on there. I thought the black one was them.

Audi and VW share some of the same chassis and engines, and also share alot of the same problems. But the Audis are more refined.
And yes audi is considered part of VW Inc.

if you really want answers, go to www.vwvortex.com and check the Audi/A4 forums. I have a VW and I cruise the MK IV board sometimes, the funniest thing is when someone posts for the first time and asks
" Hey I just got a new (99.5-04 Jetta/Golf), what kind of things can I expect ? "
the replies
" welcome to the vortex, kiss your savings goodbye "

Not entirely correct. See with Lexus, its a Toyota in Japan. An Audi is an Audi no matter what. It was a different company that VW bought awhile back, its not something created like Scion or Lexus.

On the money, it's the same thing as Mitsubishi is Diamler-Chryslers Japanese line, when they share some of the same engines, Mitsubishi is a separate company.
