Brake Pads shared w/ Celsior? - 6G Celicas Forums

hey all, haven't posted here much (or recently, for that matter), but i ran into an interesting situation that i figured somebody on here may know about...

anyway, the brakes were squeaking, so i ordered new brakes from a pretty reputable place (it's called pacific jobbers, and its where most of the shops around here get their stuff--a buddy of mine owns a service station) and was kind of suprised to see what i got. i just told them "oem replacement pads for a 99 celica" and they sent over a box of sumitomo japanese pads. and when i say japanese, i mean the thing had nary an english word on it. on the side, it said "toyota celsior", which is the jdm ls400

so, i looked at the checker website to find parts listings and, sure enough, the part# for celica pads are different from that of the ls4 pads. perhaps the japanese model uses different braking system than the american ls4? perhaps pac jobbers made a goof-up? i guess i won't really find out until after finals week when i try to install it, but maybe somebody else has a clue as to what's going on.

do we really share any parts (brake pads, specifically) with the celsior? thanks

peace
dude defenitly different pads its goof
You never know... maybe the japanese Celsior shares the same suspension and front brakes...
