My mistake I forgot the Altezza was RWD, let's just figure out transmission options for the 3S.

altezzas are RWD, celicas are FWD, the auto altezza tranny will bolt up to any 3s engine, but it wont bolt into a celica

there were 3s powered celicas that were equiped with automatic transmissions

Yeah my mistake, I had a brain fart there for a minute.

Yeah the 202, then why do people ask so many questions about the auto.

New Toyota project coming soon...
There wasn't any info, it was a screw up I made, sorry, I was wanting a mod to delete it.
So, if I wanted to go with a 3s is say a early 80's Corrola, this would be the transmition of choice?

Could it handle the extra power though.

i guess you could swap the altezza engine and tranny, making a fwd/awd 3s into a rwd one would require a lot of misc little parts. then you could turbo the altezza 3s.

i would guess that the altezza auto tranny would be able to handle a mildly modded 3sgte, but, there is no 3sgte ECU that will be able to control the altezza tranny

auto and 3sgte only came together in the new caldina GT4, and the caldina gt4 tranny is not the same as the altezza one.

Isn't the Caldina basically the Matrix? I've seen one and they resemble them. I was wondering if the Corolla transmission could handle a 3SGTE. Toyota isn't exactly known for their autos anyways.

What about a manual? A rear drive 3s Corolla with a 5 or 6 speed. I'm just asking for the heck of it. It's something I might want to do someday, I haven't seriously considerec it yet.

I originally made this to find an option for a FWD auto that will work for the 3S, I thought Altezza for some reason, it just looks like a FWD car, I noticed a lot of people with autos wanting to do a swap but want to keep it auto. I have a manual already and unless it's got a turbo hydramatic transmission in it I don't care for autos. I just want to know if there are other options out there for people. I think the ST202 came in auto.

It's been done before. I'm also planning on doing this as well. Got the chassis, just need the parts.
