my xbox started to get a lot of dirty disk errors. any one else have this problem and found a fix that worked for them?

your going to probably need a new xbox or send it in. i had this problem, and it was a problem with like the drive or something. bought a new xbox because i got tred of it, and now its fine.

i had this problem with my ps2... so i took it apart and adjusted the laser that reads the discs....

You can buy a new drive for it and install it your self, but I wouldn't tear into that drive without knowing entirely what you are doing, if you 'clean' the lens in the wrong way (with a course cloth) you could scratch the lens and forever destroy your xbox drive. Then you will HAVE to buy a new one. Good luck though.

i looked into this some more and it seems to be a common problem with original xboxes. im going to try adjusting the lense, if that dosnt work, the replacement thompson drive is about 30$.

Yeah I get the same thing and its freaking annoying.

i just clean out some of my old save games that were on the hard drive. seems to have really helped with the disk drive errors. so far i havent gotten one back yet.

i would also get errors when pausing dvds. so far those seem to be gone now too (crossing fingers).
