So tell me guys, I have a 99 GT and I was about to replace my stock air with an injen or weapon R.
I look under the hood and the box with the filter seem to be getting air from a square like tube that goes straight out of the air filter box to my fender and towards the back side of my left headlight then when its right behind the left headlight goes straight down somewhere? Is this how it is in your celi's? is this a '99 celica stock modification from other years? >>

nope, that's how they all are. you will get more airflow with a short ram or CAI, tho, so it's definitely worth the upgrade. i'd go injen, myself.

so let's say I put in a weapon R, it will probably increase the air flow which is better, but it will also suck all the hot air from where the plastic box used to be. Right now, the stock air filter contained in the plastic box seems to be getting colder air from this tube running behind my left headlight. >>

are injens legal in california. I know weapon R's are certified.

I don't see any reason why they wouldn't be...nothing about emissions because it's sucking air in -- not putting it out >>
