any1 with a painted airbag?...how you go about doing that?..i dont wanna obstruct any mechanism that will probably take my life!!!...LoLs...any advice will be helpful.. >biggrin.gif>

i was at a local mechanic shop and he was doing a turbo install on a eclipse...i was looking at his interior and i saw the steering wheel airbag cover and the passenger airbag cover painted....i was thinking this WILL be my next project on my day off..
Why would you want to paint the airbag covers? You can't get them to look smooth or anything, and they'd just look out of place if you painted them.

New Toyota project coming soon...
LOL of course u can get them to look smooth.
I would have to agree with Coomer on painting of the cover.

But on a side note, everytime someone gets into a wreck with their 6gc, the airbags go off and the pass side one does nothing except smashes the windshield (causing more $$ in damage). I would like to be able to "turn off" my pass side air bag or just disable it completely. I read something that Coomer wrote a while back about the wiring for the pass airbag being deep into the dash and difficult to get to...is there a way ?

I know it is a dangerous thing for no pass side airbag and it's not legal, but, for informational purposes is there a way ??? >wink.gif> ???

did the 94 celica's not have a passager side airbag?
IMO painting the interior is a bad idea altogether.

Yes 94's had passenger airbags.

How? Are you gonna put Bondo on your steering wheel? Then when you get in a wreck you can get solid sharp fragments shot into your skull?

New Toyota project coming soon...
If you sand down the vinyl a bit and paint correctly there is no need for bondo.
