well i checked some magazins last night........

and ok i'm sorry..... the only RHD cars i could find had been convirted for use in the uk....... thou the 1st gen's did come in a RHD version....

Eclipse was never sold in the UK.

At least not as an Eclipse.

and my bro' drove a mark one for a bit............

as i said the couple i saw for sale had been convirted for the UK !

only 7th gen celicas where ever sold in Russia but we have 4th, 5th and 6th gens here plus GT-4's in all three gens !

XXX is right about the drivetrain, they are kind of weak compared to other turbo cars and DSM's were heavy also, but for 300 hp it only takes a few mods and that is why they became so popular, well and the fact that they're the most available turbo car on the market. I have seen a 1,000hp Talon AWD before though, but the owner got rebuilt and fortified the s*** out of the drivetrain.

ok i don't know if you guys know this but the tranys on the eclipse are not weak they are actually very strong they use the same trany as the stealth or 3000gt i know the front wheel drive models do but not sure about the all wheel drive models.

It's actually the transfer case that's weak in the GSX, and that just brings the whole thing down. In higher horsepower applications FWD is more recommended, ask most DSM guys they'll tell you.

but the facts of the night are that a stock GT-4 (5th and 6th gen)will total kill eclipes by four to five car lenths >>

a stock GT (five speed LHD) will beat an eclipse by a car length....

a stock SSIII (auto) will struggle to beat an eclipse.......

sorry at the moment i don't have much info on what the eclipes where running, i'll try and add some details monday.

there are no time slips as the racing was just held on a close section of road near the city airport and the only real results was who had first and second place........
