all of you know that im meticulous with my celi and i want it to look perfect 24/7.

just wanted to know if there is an inexpensive way that i can remove some small dings on the side of my car. they're very small and a normal person wouldnt have a problem with them, but i do. how do i go about removing these dings. do i hammer them out from the inside or should i leave it to a body shop guy? i really dont want to spend money on my body for now b/c my funds are going to the motor and tranny.

any input would be much appreciated. doggy i need your help bro, >>

i know there is a service that spoons out dents.

they go from the back side of the pannel and slowly push the dent out.

if the person is skilled they can push the dent back out, and it would look almost perfect.

Yea you have basically 3 choices:
1. Fill them and repaint
2. Get behind it with a spoon and try to push em out. Personally, I would get a professional to do this because if you push too far then you've got a high spot.
3. Call a Dent Doctor. They drill tiny holes in inconspicuous areas and use a secret method to pop out dents. I see them at the dealership I work in every day, so I know they work. I know they use CO2 somehow. The guys that do that work each have to pay $5000 just to be told how it's done.

think im gonna try this suggestion. i have a pretty steady hand and im good with body work so i think im going to try this on some parts. the dings really arent that big but you can see them when the sun reflects off the car. i want my car to be perfect.

that dent doctor sounds interesting. do you go to college for that, lol.

Just to clarify, you don't pay $5000, the person that wants to learn how to do this for a living pays this. You pay him whatever he charges you. And the holes are drilled in the fender wells, or in the door jams or someplace hard to notice and are filled with color matched plasic clips.

I have something like that "ding king" mine had a diff name but yeah i got it at the "as seen on tv store" its not worth it, you glue (hot glue) the peg thing to the side of the car, and then use that U shaped thing to pull the dent out, its a waste, if you dont let the glue dry enough it pulls right off but if you wait to long it will take paint off and not fix the dent. I tossed it because I did not wana risk it (I just waited and had a shop do all the work)

yea i think im just gonna let my body shop mechanic do it.

i had some body shop guy come out with some little plungers and nearly fix mine in 2 secs.

I personally prefer to use a hammer/dolly kit when possible and a shrinking hammer to remove any high spots. These days fillers are very good and hold up well as long as the metal is well prepared. I wouldn't use filler on any part that has
bass rattles from your stereo system. I have had 3 good size dings I filled with a fiberglass based shortstrand filler. I culdn't get behind them. They have held up great.

To refer back on what Flipside mentioned, I think the Ding Doctors at dealerships are the best way to go if you dont plan on filling the dent and repainting.

A friend of the family has a 2003 or 2004 BMW Z3 and he got a baseball size dent in the passenger door from someone pushing up against it or something.

Anyways, he took it to a dealership when the Ding Doctor was there and only paid fifty bucks to have the dent taken out, when a shop had quoted about 700 to fix it.

Unless you know what youre doing autobody wise, or youre willing to learn on your baby, I would suggest taking it to a professional that knows what they are doing.

looks like ding doctor it is. these small dings are only about the size of a pellet but they're still annoying.
