Topic #25089 37 posts Started by JDM321
Just want discuss which console is much better. To me got to be the PS3.
this is too hard of a question to ask right now...all we know is what looks good on paper.

Sure the Tech Demos look awesome, but we'll see when actual gamplay is more available.

i picked xbox. ive had more fun with my xbox1 then i did with my ps2.

but i think we need to wait and see some more info on ps2. there really arent any demos of games for us to see.

15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned
xbox360 - never liked either PS system. Anything that was good, was also on the box. Plus, I hate the PS controller.

I dont know much about the ps3 or whatever, but the xbox 360 is a pretty crazy system.

I'll stick to my computer though, I never really cared for the consoles there just to limited.
man i really thought the new design was going to be the concept drawing that looks like the camera but it looks so similar to the ps2
kinda dissapointed
PS3! PS3 = 150x better than PS2 Xbox 360 = 10x better than Xbox.

Boo nay XBOX360 all the way, on paper the PS3 Dominates the 360, but they are claiming to be selling the ps3 in the $300-$400 range, witch has to be a crock-of-****, there is no0w way they can put all that into a console for $400 the parts alone would cost $600+ nevermind laboring for assembly and just marketing and all other BS. so something sounds fishey about the PS3's final product
thats some $0.02 for you all
Jeez even an Xbox fan is misinformed on the specs like most people:

Again, the Xbox360 and PS3 are NEARLY identical on paper. The killzone preview was NOT NOT NOT NOT REAL TIME. Get over it.

Yep - PS3 is a 3.2GHZx7cores whereas the Xbox360 is a 3.2GHZx6cores. For one... can any of you tell me what a 3.2GHZ is... and two, do you know what a core is? If I sat a 2.2GHZ next to a 3.2GHZ... 90% of people couldn't tell the difference. So a 1 core difference doesn't SPANK xbox on paper. Now back to real life. Micro is using a IBM-PPC based chipset thats been out forever. Game designers know it VERY well and probably wont have to hard of time with MS and XNA. Whereas Sony is using a new thing all together. Do you know how long it took designers to figure out the PS2? Just think of the PS3. Hell it'll be 2 years before we get a game thats using the PS3 power. On other stats - Xbox wins in memory, Sony wins in teraflop count (BFD), and to me they tie in Audio. Blablabla. The rest is bascially unknown to the world. All in all, they basically tie. However, Xbox has Live and now FREE Live that I dont see to much being said at Sony. Xbox owns Rare which is one of my favorite game designers (Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Conker's Bad Fur Day). Xbox has Halo, which is by far my favorite game ever. With Halo3 coming out the same time as PS3, who can complain! Also, DDR (dance dance revolution) is now a Xbox standard game, no need for a PS anymore. I sold my Two with my only regret being the Rockstar games. Wait til the 360 comes out at Xmas. Let all the kiddies buy them up. Then purchase yours come January for cheaper.

Oh yea. Ps3 price confirmed at 50,000yen. Thats about 450US buckos pals.

i'd get both of 'em ... but i hear ps3 supports blu-ray... any word if xbox 360 does?

..(formerly daily driven) 3S-GTE powered celica currently set @ 12psi..
I believe the Cell processor in the PS3 is also the same processor used in the Lucas Arts CGI systems. They are similar on paper yes, but consider E3 when the PS3 was playing Unreal 3.0, Gran Turismo 4 with the Spiderman movie running in real time, and there are already 360 games switching to PS3 releases. IMO I think that it will be mostly up to exclusives though and if Sony can pull their head out of their arse and have a decent online play ability. As far as looks go PS3 minus a couple of points for the controller. I don't know much about the Revolution but I think that it'll be a sleeper just like the GC since there is so much hype between the 360 and the 3.

It really looks like the Bose lifestyle system. Check out the DVD player and tell me it doesnt.

Sorry I'm going w/ the PS3, I have a PSP and that makes me have a controller already >wink.gif>
I vote PS3 if anything. I don't really have a lot of games for my PS2- my sis' b/f is the manager at game stop so i'll see what he can do for me, he gives me his store discount. Pretty sure i wouldnt get xbox because i suck at halo, i die every time >frown.gif> And i <3 Grand Turismo and Tekken to much. mwahhaha

Buy my Celica $2,500 -http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=76562&st=0

the ps3 has a cell processor and will use that new state of the art disk, the presentation at e3 was more impressive than microsofts, there games (killzone 2, i-8, motorstorm, etc) convinces me to buy a ps3, and if square decides to remake ff7 , well pals i think my money once again will go to a ps3, right now microsoft seems desperate wich means lots of rushing.........

Go leafs go
Nintendo 8 bit! thats the system for me!!!!! ya!!!!!!

At least the games are cheap, like "ebay: lot of 46 nintendo games $5" type of thing.

Ya. I heard the xbox was supposed to be pretty cool, and microsoft has to have it do well, cause the last xbox tanked financially, and the investors are putting pressure to drop the gaming deparment if this one doesn't work. I'm not a huge microsoft fan, so I think it would be kinda funny if it didn't do well, but thats not very charitible. So...

psalm 69
So far the only desireable thing with the Revolution is that it is suppose to play all Nintendo console games, but why get a Revolution when a half decent emulator can do the same, or you could buy all the previous systems for less than that one. On the cost issue, Microsoft announced that the 360 is going to cost more than expected due to the hard drive, why I don't know but Sony and MS will probably start the prices at around $500 like they did before, even the Playstation one was $500 on the release date. If any of them should cost more it should be the PS3 since they are dealing with technology they actually developed themselves, 360 is based on current technology and also technology that has been out for close to a year now.
