shock sensor with keyless entry ?? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #25211 4 posts Started by Batman722
my car has been hit 2 times without me knowing.

Is it possible to hook up a DEI shock sensor to my keyless entry system ? I am familiar with them, I installed one in my Jetta, I was thinking I could hook it directly to the horn/siren...? It would at least produce a chirp or something if it was hit.

Would this work ?

maybe.. you would need to hook up a relay to turn off the sensor while the engine is on.

Thanks Hanyo, I didn't think about that.

After thinking about it, I have a wire from the control unit which feeds a constant negative output when the system is armed. If I hook that to the sensor then it will only be on when the system is armed (or use a relay to reverse the polarity to make it a +). Maybe that will work...

what do you think ?

yea that would work..

do you know how many mA the constant negative can handle?
if it can handle alot, you can just hook up the ground of the shock sensor directly to the negative constant.. But on the safe side, i would use a relay.

have you thought about how long you want the horn to stay on for (when the shock sensor activates)?

you can even get a blinker relay to make the car horn honk in intervals.

i dunno, but there is alot that can be done.
