anyone know why i can't get this bellhousing apart in the area pictured below:



it'll come maybe 1.5-2" apart...then get hung...i wonder if it's because the CV yolk is still in there? or is there something i'm missing...i've undone the 3 bolts on the inside near the TOB, and all the ones around the perimeter. i'm baffled...

yeah, it may be that i was getting tired and frustrated. i wasn't sure if that yolk still being in the tranny was causing anything, or if i was missing something somewhere...::shrug::

i felt the same way when i was trying to get the awd tranny off the 3s. it seemd totally impossible, and i thought i must have missed a bolt or something. came in the next day and it poped right off in 5min ..lol

not the same thing as trying to tear inside the tranny like you are, but same theory applies >>

yeah..so i figured it out...it wasn't anything mentioned above. there was something else holding it that i had to undo. something inside the tranny. but w/e.

i also had to take the speed sensor out, because this tranny used a mechanical sensor, and of course, the celica uses electronic. >>.
