Topic #25673 11 posts Started by Jeremy1210
My airbag light just came on and it won't shut off even after the car is off, its still on. Whats causing this??
Airbag light comes on while, when you turn on the car to test the components. If any of the components fail the test, it will stay on.

so what can I do to turn it off? and Im not sure what components you are talking about (computer maybe?)

Thanks
Might want to get it checked out by a mechanic just in case. It might be a sensor or something, but better to be safe than sorry.
i've remember hearing about the air bag system needs a check up after 10 years.

maybe its time? I would take it to a toyota dealer ship and see what they say.
yea i agree with everyone else... i would think that its juss that time to get it checked up..
did you take out the fuse?

Shoot, I didn't even check other threads. Sorry bout that people.

Well Im outta town in some tiny, tiny, tiny town called Centralia Illinois with my fiance for work. I don't even have cell phone service Here(tmobile). Theres not much here but bars and a walmart.

I really don't want to have to pay to get the damn thing fixed. I just might take the bulb out if someplace is going to charge me money. I will reset teh ECU when I get home(its on my 97 celica). Hopefully that will fix it.

Thanks for the help all
Jeremy
Mine lighted on and wouldn't shut-off so I removed the fuse. If I do have an accident (God forbid), I don't want the airbags deploying...I've been strugglinh for 5 years to keep my audition fine while working on aircraft and flying...that sound from the airbags deploying kill your hearing permanently by a considerable amount.
