Rice is in the eyes of the beholder. I, however have noticed that people with no cars or cars that are worse than yours (for whatever particular reason) have a tendency to underestimate your efforts. Many people are like ohh f u u are driving a celica.. once they actually see it, they are like holly shmokes... I know I am lacking on power but hey man.. I dont have extra 900 million dollars to spare.. I got college bills to pay. Many people are like.. hey I just put a turbo on my 1978 honda civic that cost me 5 dollars at a junkyard. My car is my pride, fortress and there is not a god damn thing you can do about it.

Like a lot of people on here have said, who decides what’s “rice”. “Rice” is one of those undefined words that people throw around really easily, but that no one want their car to be called. It seems to me, that all the people with nice performing cars, like to call everybody with only nice looking cars “rice”. But the real important thing, that nobody seems to get, is WHO THE HELL CARES IF SOMEONE CALL’S YOUR CAR “RICE”. Personally, I think one of the most “rice” cars, I’ve ever seen is chucho’s car. But you know what, I think his is also one of the sweetest looking Celi’s I’ve ever seen.

So you guys see what I’m saying? Some of us strive to be able to pull up next to a Supra, rev our engine, get a dirty look when they see our bland little car, then BURN them when our turbo-charged 300hp engine roars to life. >> But others of us know they’ll never be part of the racing crowd, don’t want to risk a multi-hundred dollar ticket, but love the envious looks as we cruise by in our Sexy Celi’s, and people saying, “damn, what kind of car IS that!” >> Is there any reason to call the latter person’s car “rice?”

ok..wtf is the deal with ppl n being lil bitches about people who rice out their cars? Its their car, if they wanna spend the money on lambo doors, body kits, neons, all thouse things..let them. Is it your money? NO! Is it your car? NO! Do you have to give 2 sh*ts or see it every day?? NO!!! Jezuz people..let people do what they want to their cars, its their choise, its their money, let them enjoy their car as much as you enjoy your own. And for all thouse ppl who keep knocking hondas, the reason alot of ppl soup em up n rice em out is because stuff for them is dirt cheap, and because they can make alot of power. I know a guy who has a dynoed 700BHP Turbo Integra and doesnt have any body mods to it except a full race coil over system and a set of clear corners.

My point is, its their car, why should you care about what they do?? I say enjoy your car, do what you want. If some one doesnt like your car or u dont like some one else's car..fine. Alot of people like my celi, and alot of ppl dont, but i dont care what other ppl think. For my car, im plannin on gettin alot of power out of it, while making it look good. My buddy has a Cav Z24 and hez aiming for just looks, and you know what? We never fight about whos cars more rice or n e thin because i have enough respect for the guy who does what he wants n doesnt give a sh*t about what other ppl say. I mean hez driving a 2000 Cav Z24 automatic with no performance stuff, 18inch motegi MR7s, Bomex front bumper, Drift side skirts and rear end, Euro tails, carbon fiber wrapped muffler, air ride system, hez gettin lambo doors, and is gettin GE Illusions lights all through the car. Its super rice, but no one bugs him about it because its a nice looking car.

Do what you want, its your car. People do what they want, its their car.

My personal definition of ricey is show, pretending to be go.

If a guy's building a show car, then the visual mods have a purpose. If a guy's building a race car, then the performance mods have a purpose. The line is crossed when the mods are deceptive, or intended to be deceptive (thus prompting those in the know to laugh). It's the pretense that makes it silly. "My car can beat yours because it has wing" versus "my car looks better with a wing that without."
