arm for throwout bearing/tranny - 6G Celicas Forums

well my mechanic says i need the arm for my transmission that hooks up to the throwout bearing or something? says its like a foot long and has a fork at one end? anyone know what im talking about?

The black thing.
I've always called it throwout bearing fork, but I don't know the technical name for it. It's basically a metal fork that connects to the hydraulic piston from the clutch cylinder, that pushes out the throwout bearing, which will disconnect the clutch and the flywheel. I hope you have a manual transmission.. Too lazy to look in profile. >wink.gif> I believe that is it.. I don't think I can find a better picture for you though...

And you can see it in the picture as well.. It's the metal arm thing on the left sides..

The hydraulic piston from the clutch slave cylinder on outside of the most transmission, inside, it goes to the input shaft of the transmission, which connects to the clutch and flywheel.. Sorry for the lack of tech. terms..

Basically, it's the metal arm that disengages your clutch..

I think it is called the clutch fork or something like that.
