i've been on their site... and i havent seen one working model on a celica. I've learned that they're waiting for a test car to check fitment.. and playr is in the running to be first.. i was wondering if there has been any progress with that project and if they are offering a complete kit for the celica's 5s-fe yet?... anyone know anything??? >>

IDK.. i just read that on one of the post's on the RIPPMOD's site... said there were a few celica's in line for the supercharger prototyping and fitment... but has anyone got one yet.. or know any further information?? >>

the kit fits and is done. problem is, everyone on here is too cheap to buy it.

yeah.. it's only for a GT's 5s-fe... and i think the only pics on that parts database were of the supercharger in a corolla or camry or somethin like that...no celica engine bay that i saw.... cant wait for someone to get one.. it will take me a couple of years to be the first... lol >>

Im plannin on maybe gettin it this fall. Im rebuilding a 5SFE over the summer to handel some big boost and either gonna go turbo or super..and im kinda interigued by the super cuz not many ppl have them..plus im also rele impressed by the numbers ripps givin on the boost. 231hp runnin on 9psi...i wanna b pushin like..15 or 16psi..i figure with that..im gonna b goin like stink and a half. Soo..lets hope every thing works

So does anyone know what the cost is? I'm getting kinda tired of hunting around for turbo parts... it would be kinda nice just to buy a kit and be done with it.


Edit: n/m... guess I shoulda checked the site. They have nothing under Celica but the 5sfe supercharger for all the other 5sfe is about $3400 for stage 1 and then it says $2800 for "Tuners Package"... and what options do we have for header since RIPP doesn't make a Celica one and from what I've heard the Camry/MR2 ones don't fit?

I plan on getting the SC kit as soon as i get a real job. I like the idea of a SC since it puts less stress on the engine which is good for a daily driver. My goals are only 200 hp anyway, so this seems good. Plus its tuned out of the box, with a custom fuel controller and everything.

im surprised no one has gotten it yet. Hyperdeathkill was suppose to be the first test fit, but then we never heard form him again. He was going to drive from IL to NY to get it test fit. I hope hes ok.

everyone "says" theyre gonna get it till they see that 3400$ price tag.
the pic in the database is on a camry.

Its overpriced. $3400 isn't exactly chump change for a lot of people.

I'd much rather do a turbo setup on a Celi or just go ahead and do a complete 3SGTE swap on one.

is it just me though, or is that supewrcharger pretty damn big.
it's like a turbo(centrifugal), but iunno how much it's capable of, a thin tube like that is prob a single screw, and i thought to get higher performance you needed more screws w/ a SC

its a vortech S/C ripp just packages it with other needed stuff.

If someone does this I would be interested in the gain in power and torque. Its an interesting idea, I've seen a few supercharged integras and tiburons that were pretty quick, I wonder how much power you could get with a s/c 5SFE.

Its really not that overpriced. Kits and superchargers for other cars ive seen run you much higer. People on these boards are just cheap, including me.

Its a centrifugal blower, so it has no screws like a roots type, positive displacement blower would. The tube just runs the shaft connecting the compressor to a pulley, replacing the turbine section in a turbo.

$3,400 is chump change for what you are getting. Problem is, most Celica owners are broke kids. Some say: "Oh, I will just go the turbo route". OK, then you break and you are crying. Just save the money and get the damn supercharger. All the guesswork is done for you by Ripp.

To playr : I might have been mistaken .. but i saw the abbreviations playr on the RIPP mods forums where i was looking for information on the s/c kit for the celica's... there was a bunch of crap about finding a gt celica to test and fit on... there was said to be a few celica's in the running to be tested and fitted for the kit... one of the names of the people in line was the abbreviation playr.. so i assumed it was you.. w/ no further investigations ... or care for that matter.

also i don't think 3400 is too pricey for everything they have in that kit... it's basically everything u need and even fuel tuned... I would like to add that i too am just a poor kid w/ very limited cash flow.. but i would like to see SOMEONE on this board actually get one of these S/C kits.... SO COUGH UP THE MONEY CHUMPS!... j/k .. but seriously .. do consider it instead of turbo.. be an individual >>

If I didn't own an older celica with high mileage and had more time on my hands, I would do something like this in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, the cash isn't there anymore either.

Somebody out there is bound to have the money and perfect platform for being the first supercharged 6gc. Somebody make it happen already! >>

twincharging would be crazy... and speaking of twins... mark... you and your bro have very similar celica's .. and you and I are soon to have that in common.. my celica is goin in for body work soon .. and my bro and I will also have twin celica's .. i feel many pictures comin on... your celica's are black.. our celica's are red.... maybe we could get joint featured rides... lol >>
