I was just wondering if any1 knows how to (please explain in detail) cut and roll a fender. Since im in the GB for the lambo doors, I want as much info as possible.

Well, first of all you have to be really careful, because you can crack your paint doing it. They sell and rent a special tool for it (check it out online), but I think it's a waste of money. Most people say to just take a baseball bat and use that, pressing and rolling it along (it works well). However, here's a little trick: take a razerblade and make a light cut in the paint just out of view inside the fender well, all the way along it. That way if your paint does start to crack (likely) then the cut you made will terminate it so that it doesn't spread out to where you can see it. And have some touch-up paint handy.

And if you don't have to do it, don't.

all it is really doing, is rolling your lip out, and bring up your fender so that you can fit a larger wheel. It looks cool and is usefull in some ways, but id say if you do it, prepare to do some painting and body work. I was thinking of trying it out cause il br molding my skirts and repaint my car anyways.

Theres no reason to have to roll the fender for lambo doors.. what are you talkin about? they dont have anything to do with each other. you might have to crease/bend or roll the tabs of the fender for a lambo door so it dosnt hit, but these are two dif areas.

I figured that... ;] I'm just saying, since nobody seemed to notice, the creator of this topic's reason for wanting rolled fenders is because he's in on the lambo door group buy... =P Hell, I'm not into bodykits or anything like that, so who knows... maybe there's a connection I was missing...

I think they are talking about a different part of the fender. That has nothing to do with a lambo kit. The hinge for the lambo kit are a lot bigger and needs a lot more room so you have to roll the part of the inner part of the fender where it touches the car. With my fenders I just kept cutting the fender until it fit, I think that way was much easier the rolling >>

see how the fender has a small lip that extends inward towards the car in this pic?

u will need to bend that inward to give room for the new hinges to swing outward

its pretty much open cuz it has to be. if u want you could probably make a small shield to cover up maybe 4 inches of the bottom but its not worth it. or maybe like a rubber foam cover with a slit so that the hinge could go through, but i would imagine it getting worn out. no one ever looks there anyways so i dont worry about it. i just dressed up my wires the best i could and left it at that. >>

hey forkee, thanks for all your help and the pictures, but i gotta ask 1 more favor from you, do you think you could take a few pics (at different angles would be ideal) of the fender that has been "rolled", I want to see how it looks after it has been rolled, how bad the gap is, ect. ect. Thanks for all your help bro, you have no idea how much clearer you made things for me ^_^

yea no problem. i kno how things are when its not clear about parts and how they look, or what goes where, etc. so i just want to pass what i kno so everybody can have a better understanding of what they should expect and what theyre getting themselves into.

well if you take ur time and do it right, it shouldnt change the curvature of it. i kinda botched it a lil.

forkee, all i gotta say is.... your the man...lol. Ok, so now I know what to expect when im gonna be doin my doors, hopefully in a month or so. Thanks a million for all the pics, they helped greatly.
