Parts for MR2T, GT-Four, All-Tracs - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #26083 11 posts Started by Yota
I found HKS cams on ebay for a 90-95 MR2T. Is there a difference between cams for an MR2T and an All-Trac and a GT-Four?

What about other internal motor parts for MR2Ts, All-Tracs, GT-Fours?
I believe all of the 2nd gen heads are pretty much the same and can interchange. The only gen heads that cannot cams, I believe, is the 1st gen and the BEAMS versions...

90-95 MR2T contains 2 different generations of 3sgte.

90-92 mr2s are like 90-91 alltracs
alltracs changed after a certain month in 92
and 92-93alltrac parts are like 93+mr2 parts.

the ecu and wiring harness are the main changes, which includes the alternator, dist. cap, coil, plug wires, and resistor pack having differences.(this is according to someone else, so im not 100%)
see the feasable swaps sticky.

I'm talking specifically internal parts of the motors.. Since I'm rebuilding my entire motor, I've come across parts on ebay for an MR2T and wonder if they'll work in my motor because they are both 3SGTEs.. If that makes any sense...
Yeah they'll work as long as the same generation. Even with diff. gens some parts will be interchangable but thats a case by case basis.

depends on the part. If it is the same generation and its INTERNAL, it will be the same. Some bolt on accessories are different (e.g. intercooler, alternator bracket etc). If you tell us exactly what part you are considering, you might get a little more specific feedback.

I was just asking in general terms, but ok.

I'm rebuilding the motor. I buying JE Pistons, HKS Cams, Ferrea Valves, UR crank Pulley.

I've seen on ebay HKS 272 cams for an MR2T (90-95). Will they work for my motor?

If you have a 2nd gen motor, yes.
