I bought my Celica a while ago with stock (I think) Toyo tires on 15s. What should my PSI be? I think I might have been a little too eager and pumped it all the way to 38~40 PSI for the front.

every tire has the correct psi. most common tires are 35psi i think, my performance tires need 51. so check your tire. its the writing on the sidewall.

The tire does NOT show the correct PSI, it shows the maximum it can run.
Each car has a different correct PSI, even if they are using the same tires.
The correct PSI is written on a label inside your glove box.

I run 35 in front and 34 at the back. Seems to be fine... and lewfx you might want to reduce your psi?

wow dude you tires are going to pop.. your reading the max tire pressure.. mores cars are 28-35 psi .... and remeber that are your tires get hot the air pressure goes up ... i think are clies are 32 psi ..

this was given to me by CamryMan.org user "cdssolara" and it is the best formula for tire pressure that I have read.
Take your vehicle weight plus driver and divide by 100, this is your base.
Add 2psi to that if you have a OE suspension.
Add 2 more psi on the heavy end of your car (front for our cars)
So you say that you car weighs 3400lbs that means 34lbs is the base, so for a Camry with stock springs 38 front 36 rear, with a performance springs it is 36 front and 34 rear ...
Play with it from there to suit your taste. more pressure for performance driving and less for driving grandma to the store.
btw.. anyone know how accurate those tire pressure checkers are? you know.. those stick ones you can get at a dollar store or something where this thing pops out to show you the psi

specs say 1,356 @ 51 psi
recomended air pressure is between 32psi or 35 psi.

Yea this is correct, that is the MAX! You can also find the correct tire pressure for your car on the inside of your door jam, like where the color code and stuff is, give it a check. I believe our celica are suppose to be run at 33PSI. Also for better handling you want it a little low, more tire touches the ground and grips better (most people run lower tire pressure at the track, more tires grips and they get off the line better). Also if you are lowered at all, then lower tire pressure allows the tire to take some of the impact when you hit bumps and stuff because it had a lil flex, instead of JUST your suspension.
