Hey guys, I have a 3sgte from a ST185, basically the 2nd gen 3sgte. Anyways, I am trying to figure out the exact year of the motor and I was wondering if I could figure that out with the ECU code. Not sure which number is the ECU code on the device, but if you could find out for me.......I'll be much in debt to you =]

on my ECU, it says:

Well, it doesnt help much, but that ECU was used from August 1991 to September 1993, so its in between there, which is basically useless.

I'm sure any igniter from an Alltrac or SW20 would work.

OH, I called Jarco and they told me that since it was in August of 91 to 93, then it would be the 92-93 model engine. But, an ignitor from an SW20 would work? I keep hearing somewhere that I need an ignitor from a 1990 Celica...not sure why though.

if they say 92-93 model they are refferring to alltracs
you can use an ignitor from a 93+ SW20 or a 92-93 alltrac.
edit: i have an AFM for that year engine as well, incase you need it

I can't remember but if there is a vin on the engine that will have the date information in it. Its like a letter in posistion 10 or 11.
