ok guys i am in need of help...i am ready to complete a sale for a 3sgte motor-st205 3rd generation.
The guy i am purchasing from said he spent about $3,500 for the motor shipped and i have bargined with him while telling him i can get clips for $2,500 shipped. He came down to $2,500 and said it is mine if i want it...the engine has only 21,000 miles on it and has an uncut ecu etc...
all it needs is the map and a few little other things
I need to know if i should go through with this or not...i need your input! is 2500 for a 3rd gen -260 horespower motor to expensive?! I believe it is but please let me know becaues i am very close to buying this!

$2500, very good if it includes transmission, if just engine alone with ecu then not good.

Keep in mind that after $2500 you would have to spend more to fix or replace parts that are worn.

I myself am in search for a 3rd gen motor to swap in late august. I hope I can get a hold of a front clip, but I am expecting to spend $6,000 total on just performance. Maybe actual cost won't be that much, but I just want to be financialy prepared because I have no intention on waiting over 1 month to finish the swap.

My advice is don't go cheap and end up having major repairs down the line. Get it done once and make it last.
Last time I checked you could get the entire front clip for that price from venus.
not sure about Venus though
if you want a GOOD clip, Jarco is the company to go w/
i am getting my clip from another company and will let you all know how it goes.
I can remember the days of wanting to be swapped well still but we'll see. I dont know how adament you are about gettin a 3rd gen 3sgte, but I got a complete wrecked 91 turbo MR2 for 800$ that I was able to part out and then keep the rest of what I needed for a swap. I am unsure about your 5th gen alltrac population in your area but here there are tons of them and I know people have gotten them as well for mr2 swaps and so forth.

I still question weither or not the swap is worth it. I have been making the deal and hopefully will go down soon for a 1995 GT4 shipped to Vancouver, BC for 8k total. I know I have to make it legal but having a RHD celi and AWD and one of the very few of them in the states will be nice. something to keep in mind.

DTE

I am a thief.do not buy anything from me.
you can get that motor for $2000 shipped from down here here is a clip you can look at.. link
