hey you guys! well im thinkin about some rims and what would happen if i were to get 225/45/17 tires on em? would it mess up the speedo and would it mess with my milage in any way? i dunno any help would be appriciated! thanks in advance!

i have 215/40/17 on mine and it throws my speedometer off about 4-5 miles/hr in my favor so if it says im going 60 im really going 55-56

really? i see a lot of 6gc with that size of tires. hm wre the tire size that we are supposed to get for 17?

I'd say 225/45s are a bit large. I'd stick to 215/45s or 225/40's

The correct size for 17" rims on a 6gc is: 215/40/17.. That should keep the speedo happy.

I've always been more fond of the calculator at 1010tires.com, which allows you to compare multiple sizes and shows you the results on your speedo.

They've also got a good tech section explaining how to properly plus-size your wheels.

Yes, and with my suggestion 215/40/17, you get the correct speed. As the calculater on 1010tires.com also shows >>
