Lambo Door kit - 6G Celicas Forums

If you guys can get me some pictures and specs and such.. I might be able to replicate them.. for a lot less.

I work at a machine shop, and I have acess to all machines and if I can't operate it, the people who know how to. I think it'd be a relatively easy laser/plasma cut, then weld a bracket, and find a shock (we have a few hydraulic connections), and they'd be done.

So, if you have some dimensions, specs, material, and any other useful information, I'd like to look into it some more.

Heres some examples of our work:

If anyone needs interior stuff, etc, I'm parting whats left of my celi out. Just ask.
I call BS.... The parts alone should cost more than that.
actually a lamborghini hinge is only 15$ in metal
and about 150$ for shocks

so about 200$ should be ruff amount
Material for a hinge.. depends what theyre made out of. If its T6160... but if its AR400 then it'd be a considerable amount more.

I'm guessing its probably just a cheap steel, probably some A516-70 or so forth.

Just the type of stuff I'd like to know..

A shock, think about your car shocks. I saw KYB's for 50 a pair.. how much different are they?

If your friend can do it for $100 why wouldn't he do it now?
Maybe it was $100 of material.. and he didn't charge himself for labor?

TSK never said it was his car.. >wink.gif>

it was a 100$ worth of material and he moved >frown.gif> and he had a civic..
There are a few people here that have the kits why not have them measure it out, get all the dimensions and try to build it?
thats what I'm hoping to get, but noones stepped up.

I'm trying to get a general idea of how the "hinge" works, if its even a hinge, or just plates, etc.

look in playr158s post about the lambo doors in the FS forum.
there r a couple pics there of the hinges.
forkee also has a post that has pics of the hinges.
his is a how-to for lambo installation.

Jared Harwell
Pics are fine too, but measurements are the key.
I would take some measurements, but don't want to take apart the front end. Sorry. Here is a pic I'm sure you have all seen but hey.

How much could be shipping of this thing to Europe? I understand that price of "thingies" is still to be defined.

Im really interested in picking a set of these up off of you if you ever get a finished product out, ill pay up to 350, let me know what you think.
Tom - http://pe.usps.gov/text/Imm/immicl/immiclnr_020.html gives some info. I have no idea what it will weigh though - depends on material.

Zasper - I think it could be do-able for that price.

playa = will be looking for it. thanks
