5 spd cruise control? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #27452 16 posts Started by LuDaChRiS
quick question:

My friend recently got an 03 Subaru WRX ($10k, 5 spd, 70k miles, CAI, exhaust, turbo, etc.) and he says theirs cruise control on it. Now I always figured that cruise control was only for autos cause of the manual gear changes. Is he right, and can someone explain how it would work for a manual car? Thanks.
It works just like it would in an auto, with the addition of if you hit the clutch it turns off cruise control. I used to have cruise control in my car.

New Toyota project coming soon...
I got cruise control just never used it, well I actually just took it out so I can route piping for my CAI.
cruise control was a bitch to wire for auto to manual swap.

I have cruise with my 5sp. Its simple.. would you ever put on cruise if you needed to shift? of course you wouldn't, that would be stupid! Cruise is when you are in 5th and just... well like its called... are crusin'. I use mine every monday, wednesday, and friday coming home from seattle.... 'tis good.

the CC makes my foot fall asleep .. but playing with the little paddle on the steering wheel is fun ..

the celica has spoiled me with cc, I now refuse to drive longer than 30 min on a car without cc
I have cruise control in my car. Not sure if this is for every car or if its just ours but u cant use it when ur goin like 30 mph. Is every car like that? Never tried it on another car and im too lazy to go do it so i figured ill just ask. lol. Thanks. -john
you can use cc under 30, you just cant turn it on and set it, go above 30, set it, then use the paddle to coast below

i never knew that

i am awesome
ya my 5 speed has CC

only use it like once or twice a year on long road trips
CC is good my Celi, Lancer OZ, and Mustang GT all have it, I like it, I like it a lot, j/k I almost never use mine but it's rare to go more than 55 around here for more than a few minutes but it's cool to have it for long trips.
