Im sorry but i got another question...i know i know.. but hear me out! Im gettin 17's and tire rack says the ideal tires should be 215/40/17...Everything sounds good right...well i go on ebay today and they have some mad deals on the same exact tire..only all of these are for the 205/40/17....Theres your problem. Will these tire work or no or does it matter or what the heck does that front number even mean...cuz i know what the other two mean...So if you guys could help me out and i know you can cuz you're all smart enough to buy 6 gen celi's... Thanks
Ryan
the first # is the width of the tire im MM. 205 is too small if ur rim is 215mm width.
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/gen...eneral/size.htm for a good explanation

205's and 215's will both fit on a rim that's 7in wide. My stock tires are 205's and my aftermarkets are 215's. Both rims are 7in wide. It depends on how much rubber you want to be sticking out to protect your rims from curbs and potholes and stuff.
Hell yeah thats another thing from tire rack... your car pops up at the bottom of the screen where you have a chance to look at your wheels on your car....and they will adivse you to get the same exact tire size whether you get 17 by 7's or 17' by 8's. Whats up with that...Also would i be going over board if i got 7" in fronts and 8's in the backs. Does it even make a difference?
Wont make much sense since u dont have a RWD car.

It still makes since because there will be more rubber in contact with the ground around turns. But it will make bad weather driving an absolute nightmare(unless you really like drifting around every turn).
Yeah more rubber will be touching the ground but you can attain better traction with just a better tire - theres no driving force back there, and thats really what bigger tires are for, if u want traction and suspension - do camber and springs.

or get awd.
or dont press on the gas that hard when turning.
I would think the 205's would be too small height-wise, they will make your speedo read too fast, (but should accelerate great). I would go for the correct size. its only a bargain if you can use it.
well it doesn't really matter!!!!
why do I know this???? well i have both
I have 17x7 5x100 40ms Konig Imagines
*front wheels i have 215-40-17 (Nitto)
*rear wheels i have 205-40-17 (Ventus)
the front wheels are carrying more weight so you do want more rubber at the front!!!!!
