Dash update - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #27921 15 posts Started by celicaracer18
well dash looks great imo. got the dension ice link in and i love the location, also got the tach mount molded in, center console trim molded together clock hole shaved and apexi RSM slot cut (still to be critiqued) all i have left to do is critique th pods so they are perfectly round, a little more work around the tach mount so that it will still be able to fit on when the final layer is on, pour more bondo on the ice link and shave it all in so no wire is showing, mabey 15 min worth of work for first layer and then another 15 to get it smooth. and then it will prolly take me another hour to get the part around the center trim perfect right now they are alot of gaps.

anyways heres the pics, hopefully i will get the final secret layer on by nopi but i just don't know,

Lookin' good. I reckon DoGGy's custom guage clusters would fit in nicely >biggrin.gif>
No, I like them.... but no need to add someone elses touch when it looks fine now
yeah i might coniser it but i've got a autometer c2 speedo water temp and fuel level that will be mounted in there and match all the other gauges

did you seal up the fuse box?
Yes he did from the looks of it.

JDM Powerplant installed, BPU coming very soon!
That looks like it's going to be really hard to put back into the car. It looks great though! >smile.gif>

New Toyota project coming soon...
Looks good, but why did you seal up half your vents and glove box? also like coomer said, looks like its going to be a bitcch to put back in.

Also why not just mold in the gauge while doing all that work?
props for the custom work!

well i won't have ac anyway i'm the main thing i'm going here for is different. again a playstation 2 will go in the glove box location. also i am going to have completely custom wireing and i mean completey custom, will be using the mr2 harness and engine bay fuse box, the only thing that has to be worked into the wireing is the heater. everything else will be rewired (lighting, wipers, etc)
so there is no nead for the factory fuse box, all new fuses (still working on location) will be installed on every component. and by molding the gauge do you mean the tack? well if so that is a vey large tach, i was going to put it in the gauge cluster in my original plans but lol it wont fit, so it will be bolted on top, i don't to mold it because well i kind of can't and it would be a tone more bond and trust me there is enough aleady on there, i don't want it any heavier.

and yes it is very hard to install or was at first its been in and out of the car several times, there are three bolts that are very hard to get to, one in the last gauge pod to the left and then the top on the bottom right and left sides of the dash, they are behind the plastics so they will not be fun to put on but they are doable.

also thanks for the support it really helps guys.
