Sus Tech Sway bars - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #28369 47 posts Started by 95ST
does anyone know if the sway bars listed on nopi are the new redisigned ones? does anyone have them yet? Is there anyone who can compaire the old S.T. sway bars to the new ones?
I got the first set. The back is the same. The front is different. If your car is not lowered, it doesn't matter which set you get. If you have a lowered car, the original front bar will rub on the undercarriage and make an awful sound particularly under hard accelleration or cornering.

The new front bar is as smooth as butter. The sway bar mod was definitely the mod that made the most difference in "feel" of the car.....well, right behind the 3sgte that is...... >biggrin.gif>

so is the new one out for sale yet?
I had the old set on my last celica and I will agree the best mod I did to that car, although I never had that "rubbing" problem. I will be ordering them begining of next week cant wait to get the suspension done so the celi will be fun to drive
i did get them just recently..also on a daily special they were like around $230. not bad just look under the specials page i saved like $30 so i bought the spc cambers with them.

they ride niiiiiice never had that rubbing/sound come from underneath...maybe a bad install or the old bars?

The front rubbing was due to the car being lowerd. Non-lowerd cars were fine.

Are the new versions out then im guessing?
come to think of it... It was a long time ago but I think I had to bend in some of the floor pan so the bar didnt hit. My bad it was along time ago. Picking up my car tomarrow, probably be placing my order this week for my suspension.
Hey, can one of you guys post a link to these sway bars? Huh? Can ya?

If nobody calls or emails them I might....this should be the next step for me, but first I'll get used to the Tein coilover setup and see if it needs anything.

I'm calling tomorrow about brakes, I'll go ahead and ask about the sway bars if I don't see a post here when I get up.

Sorry It took so long to reply, but yes they are the new ones, the front install is a piece of cake, the back is quite challenging. I had to drop the gas tank, and pull off the control arms on one side then it was lots of twisting and convincing to get it in. They are great once they are in though, deffinatly love my ride on the sportlines, kyb shocks, and ST sway bars. The ride quality is great, I need some bracing, and I definatly think the shocks are a weekest link in the system, so I will eventually upgrade to the koni yellows.

I know you didn't ask me but I will respond anyway. >smile.gif> Next to the 3s, the sway bars were the best performance mod I have done. 50mph right turn on-ramps are quite fun.

I deffinatly think these are worth the time and the money. This is my second celica and I had them on my last one as well. They have come down in price and still have the same great effect on the way the car handles. I cannot think of a downside to them.
Looks like sportcompactonly.com will sell you the front and rear seperately. Good news cause only the front causes a problem for me.

when you guys say the ride is great, is it ruff or smooth? how is the ride anyways.
