S2000 antenna - 6G Celicas Forums
Nice. Still deciding if i should remove the antenna completly (paintjob within a month) or getting the S2000 one!
JDM Powerplant installed, BPU coming very soon!
Lookin good. Just like mine. Did you cut stuff up or not? I used seventh gen peices and mated it to fit with my car. Easiest way if you ask me, you gotta spend a little more but you don't have to cut anything or risk damaging the car.

Yeah I cut the whole antenna off at the base. It took the most time trying to get the pieces of antenna apart but after that I just followed the how to.

For people who don't want to pay a lot of money for an S2000 conversion:
I just installed an antenna from locustom.com. It's called the 'Shark Attack 2' and is basically an S2000 antenna with an angled base. It was really easy to install. Just plugged in the antenna plug and spliced the power wire to the grey wire on the OEM power antenna harness. The amp is integrated into the base. My OEM powered antenna was completely removed. There was no need to keep/modify anything. It costs $35. They have other conversions on their site also. So far the FM reception is the same and the AM reception is good, but crappy when in weak signal areas.

does everyone here have constant stick up antenna's or does ne one have a power one like mine.
I used to have a power one before I put the s2000 one on. I think all 6gcs come with power antennas.
i have my s2000 antenna waiting for me, i dare not cut the power antenna tho.

Nope, I never had one, the was no wiring or anything for it. I just ran my own wires to my HU and put in a bypass switch.

What's wrong with you're base?
The 6th gen base and the 7th gen base are the same.
Just get a new one.

i read the how to for this... but er... if we have a power antenna.. don't we need to replace the thing inside the trunk? the sub-antenna bracket or wutever thing? or we don't ned it...
actually.. from the how to of the other site, the sub antenna assembly is PN: 86309-20300... is that what we have already?
