revolution controller - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #29007 20 posts Started by celicaST
well, the big N finally released their controller for the revolution. at first, i didnt know what to think, but the more i thought about the possibilites, im psyched! i cant wait for an online first person shooter on this thing, pure fun. props to nintendo for breaking the norm, and i cant wait to see what they do with this technology.

controller

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.
props to nintendo for trying something new.... but its really just a remote control with one action button. i really cant see how i could play games with this thing

It's going to be awesome

that thing is ugly. i mean they really set the trend with the n64 controller, but this.....this....is hideous. its like something apple would make if they went into making game systems. the console looks crooked like its gonna fall.
i think it will work great...

i'm just sold on the real-time 3d mouse aspect of it. That'll make FPS games be real cool. I'm also interested in the PS3...I saw a vid of MGS4 and got turned on

that is really a terrible idea, i couldnt stand playing a video game almost exclusively one handed. and the chorded extension is just stupid. Xbox 360 will own all the other consoles, though i do plan on eventually having both a PS3 and a Xbox 360, ive decided the 360 DEFINATLY comes first. if they used the 3d motion technology on a standard 2 handed controller i would be very intrigued, but waving a one handed remote at the tv is just freakin stupid.

Believer, you'll leave her, in leaving them allNo but I don't buy itLike anything you do, as anyone you areCause I'm...Ten Speed, of God's Blood & Burial
I like the clean looking design, but I thought the N64 controller was the only one I ever liked for first-person shooters. Remember Bond? That took me a while to get used to playing but it was awesome.

PS3 will out-do xbox360

that's because i'm a playstation fan, oh well

smart or not, i think nintendos current views on videogame marketing is very bold. i mean both ps3 and xbox 360 are just arguing graphics with each other. omgz!!1!1! these graphics are better!11!!!1... nintendos trying to create unique playing experiences, and input into the games. i mean yeah, theyre different, but playstaion and xbox controllers have basically been the same for years. the new ones are pretty much the same thing as the old ones... nintendo came out with their bongo drum controller for the gamecube, which is really fun if your grown up enough to get past the kiddy aspect of it... now this. it'll be unique but i do think it'll be the end of nintendos consoles... no 3rd parties are going to want to make games for that controller...
it looks like the original controler on its side.
I am removing my previous statement. I just watched a video on IGN about the Revolution controller....it looks like literally the gayest thing I have EVER seen. There is no way in hell I would ever use this thing, EVER. There is nothing Nintendo can tempt me with to even make me think twice about buying one.

the fact of the matter is, game players didnt know that they liked bar controllers with the thumbpad on the left, A and B on the right until they gave it to them with the NES. Then no one knew they liked the joystick on the controller until they gave that to them on the N64.

Hate or love the way it looks, you should give it chance. True innovation always come with the most resistance.

Its Orville's Celica, i just drive it...
I'm not using it, period. I like to sit down when i play my videogames, not dance around like a damn fool.

You must be an xbox fanboy.....

I might give that controller a chance but, celicarocker is right revolution might not get any 3rd party support, but in the other hand it might influence some fresh new type of game play designs in the future from new 3rd party companies.

Go leafs go
i think they actually have an adaptor to make it like a the gamecube.

that is true as nintendo confrimed it, however that picture is a mock-up by ign. best of both worlds, 3d sensing and lots of buttons, better be sober to play this thing! >smile.gif>
