its got 190 hp? im gonna see so many of these where i live and it will be very annoying. Why doesnt toyota give us something like that?

The new commercial looks like a Scion commercial. At least the the SI is a coupe and not an ugly hatch like the last one. It was shaped like an egg.

It will be release in Dec. It drives really well and the stock exhaust note is awesome.

Then again it is a tad pudgy at 2900lbs, but with that semi-helical lsd who cares!

If memory serves me right all of the previous SI's were hatches except for the one before current one and this one?

Toyota doesn't make anything like that because they now suck. It irritates the crap out of me how Toyota is going for this new "fuel economy and nothing else thing." I want a sports car. They came out the the 3sgte Celica, 3sgte MR2, and TT Supra all in the 90's. Those cars still sell very well. Did Toyota get new management or something? Honda is ripping it up. It won't be long before they offer a factory turbo car. They have the factory turbo jetski, so I think it's only a matter of time.

my friend works at the local honda dealership and the president of Honda Canada was just here and told them that it was going to be released late 2006. so there! >>

Yeah they have all been hatches, except for 99-00si's which were coupes. They also dident make a us si from 94-98. its funny that the SI is its own car now. it used to be that they basicly looked the same just different engines. Now there totaly different cars. ****in hondas.

The Matrix and Corolla both get XRS versions, equipped with the 2zz out of the seventh-gen Celica GTS. With the way the Civic has grown and it's emphasis on handling decreased, a 190 HP Civic is about right competition for a 180 HP Corolla.

I work for a honda/vw dealership down in Tampa and we're getting 10 SI's in on December 1st. I've driven the 06 ex and while the performance was so-so (140HP/128ft.-lbs), it's a really well-styled car inside and out. The extra 57HP and 11 ft/lbs. are gonna make the SI stand out above any car in its class.

On a side note: I just test drove the VW Phaeton and let me just say that I would sell three organs and my left testicle to own one.

JKceli has your dealership had it's ride and drive yet? If not make sure you attend, it's one of the few ride and drives that are actually fun. They setup a little road course in the parking lot and you get to have at it. If you get the chance to go let me know what you think.
