Your torque peak is at 4,400 rpm and hp peak is at 5,500. So your main powerband is going to be from 4-5.5, you'll feel a good pull. Make sure to shift after 5.5, you won't build any more power

isn't it better to max out the rpms thou? thats why seople say manual is faster cause you can max out the rpm before you shift? thats what the word on the street is.

its never good to max out the RPMS. For shifting some cars generate more power closer to redline than ours, which puts them at an advantage to stay in gear longer. For our 5sfe, if you shift at about 5800-6000 RPMs then you will be keeping it right in the powerband for the next gear. If you were to shift at say 6500, not only would you be in redline and wasted time getting there out of the power curve, you would start in the next gear in the middle of the powerband and have less time with the engine generating the most power. Make sense?
*EDIT* just because a car CAN rev high doesnt mean it NEEDS or SHOULD rev high. We're not drivin S2000's here, we don't need the RPMs way up to make power lol
