After starting my car I looked at the rpm gauge and the needle was chugging felt like the car was choking den it shut off on me so I started it up again and it was doing the same thing so I revved it a bit and it became fine... anyone know what this can be? thanks

It could also be your ISCV valve. I took my connector off and now it won't choke to death, but idles at 1-1.1K

My boyfriend's car does this.. and I've always wondered why. Sometimes he has to start his car 5 or 6 times and rev for it to work.

Any other ideas of what it may be?

could be the air control valve as well, i replaced mine at $175 and car starts up fine now. or you could take it out and clean it with carb cleaner and hope that works as well.
