I have a 95 SS-III with the stock spoiler,
which has 3 connecting parts to the car
(two at the sides and one in the center),
like pictured in my car here:



I want to change this to a different spoiler,
which only has two connecting parts (one on each side),
as pictured on maikl's car here:



So, my questions:
1. how much?
2. where from?
3. is it easy?
4. and will it leave nasty holes or something visible where my
previous spoiler used to connect in the center?

You have a three post spoiler. This spoiler was only available on 96 and above models. Are you sure you have a 95? They got the two post spoiler, like your bottom picture, minus the blocks.

1. Not sure of the price but I'll say from 150-200.

3. Probably a fairly easy install job providing you have the right spoiler. I am not sure if the spoiler blocks will fit into your outside holes on the three peice spoiler.
4. Yes, you'll have holes in the center.

hey man, cheers for the fast reply. Its a possibility my car is a 96, since the Japanese years are wierd to figure out, almost as hard as the documentation... (my cars a Japanese model)

info all sounds good - its a shame about the holes in the middle, that could look quite ugly... is there anything that can be done about it to make it a nicer finish?

You can get the holes filled in.

Are you located in Japan? You could probably check junkyards and such for Celica parts, chances are that you'll be able to get a couple of items for cheap.

As far as the year goes, I would think it's possible that it's 95; I always thought that new models were introduced to Japan late in the year and worldwide the following year (late 95 and 96 upgrade to the 6gc, in this case).

3) The holes don't line up I'm afraid.
4) So you basically have to remove the current spoiler, fill the holes and repaint, then drill holes and fit the new one. It's often easier to swap the tailgate if you can find one.

SSIII riser blocks are rare I think. GT-Four blocks are more common. You could get plain blocks and pretty them up as you saw fit.

actually two holes do line up, three holes need to be filled, and two need to be drilled. i'd post pics but i don't know how

so i assume you added this spoiler to your celica which previously had a 2 post spoiler?

im wondering how bad the center is going to look on mine with the holes there (even when filled...) i wonder if theres a cool little "item" i could stick on the center there to hide the holes. any ideas?

perhaps an antenna... that's all i can come up with.. but would look SO out of place and ugly. i'd suggest covering it up.. either do it right or don't remove the spoiler at all.. if you 'temporarily' cover it up, you'd probably get too lazy to re-do it the proper way later on.. but that's just me.

but anyway, go buy the spoiler..
