my friend is selling me a 14b from a dsm with the side mount intercooler and iwas thinking to turbocharge my celica 7afe . i search and notice that all the people that turbocharge their 7afe use a t3 . i my question is is the 14b worse than a t3? like how much hp will i make on the wheels? is it even worth it to use the 14b? what about the manifold is the turbo flange of the t3 same has the 14b?
i got other questions but thats all i can think of right now

t3 is just a more popular turbo and most manifold made go with t3 for ease. if u make the manifold to match this turbo, its deff smaller but that alone does not make it a bad choice.

for ex nissan's det come with a small garrett t25 in most cases(similar to the mitsu unit) and the FWD guys i talk to make some unreal power with them and get into high 12's in the 1/4 mile.

so the 14b is bigger than the t3? but does the 14b make the same or more power of a t3?. but what do i need to make a manifold for the 14b?

i'll give you a few helpful hints

#1) read the stickies
#2) look for a 14b compressor map and see if it fits the 7afe (how to do a compressor map on 7afe and needed info i have written in a sticki)


search on yahoo or google for turbo information and you need to do ALOT of research in planning this the stickies will guide you but also search 7afte here on the forums and much info will come up

14b is not bigger than a t3.

it will still make enough power to blow your engine

you need a turbo manifold with the appropriate flange on it.
