So I finally get my clutch safety switch thing figured out, and then I find a loose wire that goes to my ignitor, so I solder that up then I give it another go. And nothing arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggg................. So I call dave up and ask him what to do, he says check for spark yada yada yada.... and about this time I realize that retarded me didn't plug the ignitor back in when I was testing that wire. So I plug it back in hop in and try it, it fires a litttle arrrrrrrrggggggggg...... So I try a few more times and put put put put sound like a harley but its idling at about 500 rpm's.

J/k about selling my car by the way it runs well sorta, Dave says I have a vacuum leak probably somewhere. So after talking to Dave I started thinking wonder if I have a CEL so I start it up again and I do. I have code 21, 2 flashes and 1 pause anyone know what this code means?

Also can anyone help me with the routing of the vacuum hoses so i can make sure I have them all hooked up and going to the right places.

Today musta been a good day for swaps, I finallly got mine to run, and that guy with the beams got his to run.
dammit kick my ass for not being in there on the phone
congrads! i know the feeling of finally getting it to fire up after days for trouble shooting. post some detailed pics of your engine bay and maybe we can spot something you missed.

Thanks for the code I'll try and get pics tommorow.

Will the bad o2 sensor make it run all ruff like that?
Oh yea and thanks to Dr. Tweak and Dave for helping me troubleshoot this stuff.
i doubt it ... but it could i guess. its probably a loose vac line or something tho

maybe you fouled the plugs when trying to start it with out getting spark?

does the car rev up well when you gas it?

Make sure ur intake piping is nice and tight.

Check for vacume leaks.

I will return one day.
No it dies when I give it gas. And I doubt the plugs got fouled.

I am going to syphon my 2 month old gas out and put some fresh 93 in it.

Jeff is right none of my TMIC tubing is tightened down yet, and I have vac hoses that are not hooked up because I don't know where they go. I'm pretty sure it is just a vac leak.
you can leave that gas in there. Just fix the vacume.

it will idle fine on 87.

I will return one day.
how old can gas be before you should think about changing it? my swap has taken about 13 or 14 months with 1/4 tank.
My car sat for a year, with less than 1/4 tank of 87 octane.
Its fine for idling and swap trouble shooting. Once the car is mobile, fill it with the highest test you can find.

I will return one day.
Well gonna get a cap and rotor tommorow and try that first thing. Looks like I'm only firing on 2 cylinders so I think that is it, either I'm not getting spark, a good enough spark or fuel to cylinders 3 and 4.
I'd say fuel because it sounds like the engine is dying out when you hit the gas from dumping too much air for the fuel to handle. Could be the plugs too.

thasts your problem right there man! all that stuff has to be hooked up and air tight. do new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, anyway.

Actually I couldn't find any leaks and it still ran like that after everything was tight. After talking to Dave he said its probably bad cap and rotor, plug wires, plugs or clogged fuel injectors.
im curious what the problem will turn out to be.

Well the problem was one of 2 things, I'm not sure which it was.

Today when I went to NAPA to buy injector cleaner I saw a can of sea foam cleaner in a spray can, so I was like I'm getting that since it worked great in bottle form in my 7a. So when I got back I sprayed a little bit in the idle air hose and let it sit for about an hour or so. Then came back and started the car and let it idle, it still ran like crap, but a little tiny bit better, so I sprayed more in and started messing with the MAF plug at the same time, and in about a minute or so it was idling at 1000 rpms and smooth as it could get. Now it revs great and everything seems right.

I'm gonna put the axles and rest of the car back together tommorow and then take it in monday to get my exhaust and rear mount made.

Dg's wiring was perfect I really didn't have to change any of it, with the exception of bypassing the clutch safety switch everything was right. If anyone contemplating getting a swap, save yourself the headache and have DG do the harness for you. It was all plug and play and if anything goes wrong with it he's there for ya. Thanks Dave!

And Dr. Tweak is great with the wiring too, he helped me with the safety switch bypass and some other things when I was lengthening it and he didn't even have to.
great to know man i want some vids when your done >smile.gif>
