DustinB and Lissa are correct, and I also have the SS-III look on my Celica.
From the research I have done this is what I know...

The SS-III was a celica that was produced overseas 98 and 99. It had a 3s-ge motor ("beams" version) and had a few unique styling features. For exterior there were the extensions/splitters in the front and the rear, a grill with the SS-III emblem on it, stock side skirts, projector headlights and clear high beams, and the 2 post spoiler with the raiser blocks that had "SS-III" imprinted on them (as opposed to "GT-four").

as for the interior, they had red accented seats, silver interior pieces, silver/white gauge faces, and metal door sills with SS-III on them.

oh, and they were only available in white >wink.gif>

Japan only I think. Comes with a 3S-GE (some with BEAMS powerplants) and SuperStrut suspension....

JDM ST205Blitz Spec NUR Exhaust, somewhere over $1000Needing another one 18000 miles later, bloody annoying.
and i don't think all SS-III celicas have the raiser block spoilers.. one member here has an SS-III but with no raiser blocks but instead had a 3-post spoiler.

Ok how do I get a hold of chrisc for some pricing and info.

Also I noticed you have fog lights on the front corners mine doesnt its a 1994 does it still work.

Thanks for all the help

well i believe the 96s or 98s and up do. junkmate, from this forum, has a 95 SS-III.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
95 SS-III?

SS-IIIs were made in 1998 and 1999 only, as far as I know.

From the various info I've read, SS-I was made between 94/95, SS-II between 96 and 98, and SS-III from 98 to 99.

i'm don't remember if SS-I, SS-II, and SS-IIIs were year specific. but they are categorized for the type of engine that they come with.
SS-I have the 3sfe
SS-II have the 3sge (non VVT-i)
SS-III have the 3sge w\ VVT-i

that said, i also didn't believe someone could have a 95 SS-III at first. and from the pics, i think he has an SS-II.

heres a pic of the wing batman is talking about, the interior (accented seats) and motor. I couldn't find the badging though.

If you have a 1994 or 1995 Celica, you have a pre-face lift Celica, meaning that the front end of your car is slightly different than 1996-1999. The rear of the car is the same as the regular hatch. If you want the SS-III look on 1994-95, you need to buy OEM front Splitters, also from Chrisc. Take a look at Coomer's car to see what I'm talking about.
where can i get that grill

Yeah that's right, but I think they coincided with those years, too.
I had a part# for that grill but diller couldn't retract the part from database. Where did you get yours
i believe he got those pics from eBay from a seller named keithtau. i saw those exact pics from his auction.

anyway, does this grill goes on the bottom half of the bumper? it looks like its the type that fits on the upper-grill of the GT4 bumper.

Wow, just wandered in to this topic to find a lot of people ripping me to pieces...
record straight, i have a 95 SS-III Celica. (yes, SS-III).

The SS-II and SS-III are largely similar, but the SS-III has the Super Strut Suspension (which mine has) - this is not available on the SS-II.

The reason my SS-III doesnt have all of those SS-III markings on the grill, the sides and the rear spoiler, is something i have been looking in to myself recently, and i assume they were added to the 96/97 version SS-III, when the 3S-GE engine was upgraded with VVT-i.

Also - my Celica is a Japanese model, i believe there are some differences again between the Japanese models and the American/EU model Celicas.

In short, my Celica is in fact a Japanese '95 SS-III without the Beams engine upgrade.

ps. Celica_fan, if you're saving money, get a GT-FOUR >tongue.gif>

I've always thought SS-IIIs were made from '96 onwards, and with the BEAMS from '98 onwards, guess you learn something new everyday >biggrin.gif>
