I am going to go to college in fall '06 an i was wondering how our celis will do up there, not for snow wise although i do have great snowtires. i was wondering how it would run, do i need a block heater special additives and anything you can think of please tell me. here is the avg monthly temps for Anchorage. or should i just buy a Tacoma. or keep the celi and buy a Tacoma

well i know my celica would get a bit tough to start when it comes to starting in the extreme cold. i would defintly say get a block heater if possible. even if its not needed, it doesnt hurt
it gets colder than that up here. i don't have a block heater - i was fine all winter, and i didn't add anything. you just have to let your car run for 10-15 minutes before you drive it, to give it a chance to warm up, that's all.
and i have a remote start that i can program to start my car at a certain time too. thank you, but what do you do in manitoba when theres a lot of snow on the ground

we drive over them.. duh lol >biggrin.gif>

ps. yah, i'm from Manitoba too.

and also whenever you get the chance to plug in your car, DO IT! it's better for your engine and will also shorten the time it takes to warm up your car.

if you have a good battery, you'll be okay.

i get snow here and i know you can drive over it but there a point where you cant and ive been in cars that have gotten stuck and it sucks. i snowboard a lot and have gotten stuck on that road up to the mountain, (Bogus Basin), not in my car though. that question was more rhetorical than anything
