Well this is how my night ended tonight...

I stopped at a Wawa to use the bathroom, come back out, turn the key, and all I get is a click; got a guy to check the battery, it was fine, and the belief is that it is the starter. Empty pockets here we come!

Edit: At least the car is nice and shiny >rolleyes.gif>

THE COIL, THE COIL!!!! I can't stress enough to say it, but the coil is like a crappy design that toyota made. If it clicks and won't start its the COIL!

Most of the time, it's the starter. But on the 5sfe, I've heard coil too. It always sucks to break down. It's happend to me 3 times. Only once in the Celica, I broke an axle screwing around. Good luck fixing it man. Definately try coil before starter.

Aight ill take a look at it tomorrow. What is unfortunate is that it is at a garage 40 miles away from my house and we will probably just have to ley them fix it which means they can say whatever they want to say.
its usually an easy fix around 10-20 mins at the most. That's if you have an internal coil and if it is willing to screw off. I had to cut the screws off of mine 5sfe on the camry. It was such a pain, cause the screws were rusted stuck.
My motor used to make a clicking sound and wouldnt start too...then i had the coil replaced and works fine, never had a problem after that.

As it turns out it was the starter. The main belt was rotting too, and the radiator fluid was low. $457 >frown.gif>
Gee thanks for giving me hope. I changed the oil in mine monday and moved the car to the other side of the garage...no start. Radio worked great but nothing else. Had to jump it with my sister's honda. Been ok since.
