Royal purple - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #30191 20 posts Started by celicaGT96
I just want the best for my celica even if it cost alot it would be worth it to me.
Why is this oil sopposed to be soo good, and would any of yall recommend it?
I've used it for almost a year now and had no problems with it. Kinda has a good racing smell rather then regular oil when your driving hard. I've used it in both my 2000 and 1990 GT-S's. They let me have a free dyno after I put some in and got about 2whp difference.
lol are you serious? How would the oil affect horse power though?
royal purple is awesome stuff.

Nuff said

I will return one day.

Like i said earlier........
2whp sounds great to me >wink.gif>
although kinda hard to believe
Royal Purple is a great motor oil to use, I use Mobil 1 & Royal Purple on diffrent cars. Royal Purple is on the high price side & I can't truly tell the diffrence between Mobil 1 & RP >confused.gif> . Maybe it's just all that hype in my head about RP being soooooo good. 2 WHP hmmm Dyno test it ?

Amsoil owns royal purple! I used to run royal purple in my bike, it was good but I switched to amsoil and it was so much smoother. Amsoil is the top of the line oil as far as I'm concerned.
oil can indeed give you a 2whp gain i've seen over 10whp gained by RP in a wrx by using ONLY rp fluids crank, tranfer ect.. over the stock

the reason being is oil does wat? LUBRICATE and cut down on frictional loss and heat

by reducing friction via better oil you reduce heat and drag on parts which "frees" up a itty bitty hp
royal purple is defintely the best
Why is this the first time im hearing about this stuff?
same here
never heard of it before

PROJECT 6TH GEN<FS: Things up for grabs><Progress>
I never heard of it either until I went to dyno last year with my GT-S. They asked me if I wanted to try the oil and I said sure. I went back a week later to get it redyno'd and I gained 2whp. The thing is that when I went back to redyno, it was about 10 degrees hotter and a little more humid. I don't know how much it affects a dyno but I still gained.
By the way, the benefits of using Royal Purple isn't just the lil hp you gain... But it also helps your engine last longer too. So paying a little more for oil is a good idea. The only thing I don't understand is how it's suppose to improve mileage like it says on the bottle. I've never actually checked to see if it did or not before I started using it.
never heard of it before, but after reading these comments i think ill give it a shot next oil change. ill post if i see a change in mpg. it makes sense, but i expect it to be very minimal if at all noticeable taking into account statistical variance.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.
maybe i'll try it again, but like others... i'd never heard of it before
i ordered some last week and it should be here today, gonna try it for the first time

let us know how it goes, and if you feel its worth it.
I think some of you are getting the wrong idea of what the oil is mainly made for. I think it's designed more to increase the life of the engine rather then increasing the performance. I highly doubt you'll be able to feel the actual difference but it's there.
