Hey i was wondering if anyBody know what Celica really means

I saw on a site a few years back that celica ment "heavenly" but who knows if it actually does

99 project version 3.0.. hello SEMA 2010 =)
Someone posted a link to a site that explained everything...
As far as I remember - the dragon logo depicts "the celestial blue celica dragon". And celica - means celestial.
Celica: The name is derived from the Spanish word for "heavenly" or "celestial".

I remember seeing this dragon logo on an old model Celica Somwhere. I think it was GTS (looked like a supra celica, but said only celica) with RWD.

I know the celica logo, the dragon is suppose to be those old vikings ships.
when you visit japanese celica sites through google, and using the translation feature that google has, it translates Celica to "Cicely Mosquito".

did anybody else notice that? go search the Eurou pages through google and have it translate the page. you'll see what i mean. >tongue.gif>

A Japanese manufacturer choses a logo to look like a Viking ship....okay.

Or maybe the logo was chosen to resemble dragonboats, of which apparently Toyoda (the company founder, note the spelling difference) was quite fond. Remember, in Asian mythology dragons are benevolent.

This would explain why the Celica dragon design is a distinctly Asian interpretation of the dragon -- and looks like the dragons you see on the front of traditional dragonboats.
