US Meet - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #30275 102 posts Started by Defgeph
OK lets just hear some ideas that you guys have out there.

My ideas....
Location: Middle of the country
Date: Next summer
number of days: at least two

If this were to ever happen, we would need 100% confirmation from everyone that would come. Meaning pay to play, a required deposit. Once you show up the
deposit is returned to you.

lets here some location ideas

I dont want to read about how this will not happen, I want to read about how it could happen. Check you negativity at the door. >wink.gif>

Thanks,
DEF

I will return one day.
how about NC ? or AZ .. the motor city??

[TeamNJCT
I think this is too ambitious. Perhaps start with an east coast meet in NC or something.

a US Celica meet would be good. The center of the US is in about Kansas or so. If most members are either east coast or west coast, then we are all looking at a 1-2 days of driving each way.

we need a show of hands, who would do it ?

I would do it. I think you should aim more toward the ohio / kentucky / tennesee area though. You wont have too many west coasters cross the rockies even if you have it in Kansas. My vote is the Dragon in Tennessee and do it in June.

QUOTE(lagos @ Jul 10, 2006 - 1:55 PM) i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.
Heres my problem - very weary about driving so far in a car with so many parts which "dont belong."

I also think that the folks from alltrac.net, celicatech.com, newcelica.org and other Celica owners should be invited to increase turnout.

I'm interested! I've always been interested in something like this.

100% here.

I remember in the old celica.net days.. there was an Orlando meet (which I did not attend).. and they rented a house for the weekend. What about something like that? (Maybe just for the 6gc people if there is a huge huge huge turnout)?

I'm in 100%. My car loves long trips.

Lets see what some of the west coasters say. If we cant get any members to come from the west, I'll agree with Jay.

I'd love to attend a huge toyota meet.

I will return one day.

yes sir, along with MR2OC and the supra guys.

I will return one day.
amecia is foking HUGE. i think a better idea would be to do an all east coast and a 2nd all west coast meet. if we get the mr2, supra, 7th gen , etc...guys into it, it would still be an amazingly large meet.

15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned
id be interested in that.

my suggestion.

Myrtle Beach.

the probe forum im on has a meet in November every year. been doing it for 8 years now. all probes. we get people from cali flyin in for it and driving over for it.
its a great time. there is a show also. trophys, food, fun and prizes.

We even have a state meet/show called Hocking Hills(HH2k5). get people from califlyin in also.

just a suggestion. even though it isn't center of the country.

Id love to do somthing like this.. Havnt been able to make it for a meet yet, cause the celi gets little problems everytime. I wouldnt put a deposit or anything..

Also I think starting with an east coast would make more sence..
Jeff, you know I would do it man. Actually a security deposit of sorts is a good way to assure that people will show up and have a good turnout. I like the idea, however its all in the interest and execution/organization of it all IMO.

3rd gen ST205 3SGTE - Alive and boosting.
what will be done at a huge meet like this? we'll need like 10 cows and 20 pigs if we're doing a bbq lol..j/k. i like the idea of renting a house etc.

Turbo install made possible thanks toTeamJ.D.M.officially 5SFTE junior member~*MuH NeW RiDe*~
Depending on how far i'd be in... I don't get to go to many celica meets in the NC area so i'd love to see some of your guys' rides and meet some of you!

JDM guy made me do it.
ok after reading an old issue of superstreet how about a Drive Meet ?

where we start in the east coast then drive south .. then west .. then north then back east ... making stop along the way and meeting up with people ..

[TeamNJCT
well i'd meet up with you all when you got in the area... i am not much for long drives... especially driving alone..

Why not Ohio?

i don't think the west coasters would like the "tip the cow" game.
lol

>frown.gif>.. stupid canada, nothing fun ever goes down here
If my car is running well, and I can get off other commitments, I'd consider it. Depends on location, a 1-2day drive wouldnt be cheap or fun, unless we meet and all ride together.

If anyone needs interior stuff, etc, I'm parting whats left of my celi out. Just ask.

JDM guy made me do it.
If we get a strong west coast interest, I like to see it almost dead center of the country.

If not, I would agree to a massive east coast meet.
Tail of the dragon, or some other ideas you guys may have.

Tennessee would be Ideal IMO

DEF

I will return one day.
Seriously though, wherever we go, I think getting a house for the weekend for the 6gcers would be splendid.

Let me know, I can get us a super good deal.

ok im selfish and dont want to drive far but how about colorado? its in the middle and theres great scenery up here, i live on a lake and i have access to a private dock with BBQ, volleyball courts, etc, jet skis anyone? >biggrin.gif> could cruise up to estes park or whatever. very doable. just thought id throw it out there.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.
Topeka, Kansas looks about centered to me.

Let the negotiating begin

I will return one day.
sure kansas is centered, but i think it would be so much more fun in colorado. i mean, this is a nice place to drive for a summer vacation even without a celica meet. plenty of activities to do here. should try to make it more than just a car meet. one of the best water parks in denver, white water rafting, i dont know im just throwing ideas out. a weekend event would be cool. again im biased, but no matter where it is, i really hope this goes down, i will be there.
